How to move images into a folder?

I used FTP to upload 252 photos directly into images/phocagallery. I then put the images into the correct category. However, I would like to move the photos from images/phocagallery into images/phocagallery/newfolder. I don't want to see a huge list of images in the Phoca admin; I would prefer for them to be organised into folders just as they are organised into categories.

How can I do this in Phoca admin?

Hi,

that is not possible in Phoca. You can use the Media Manager in Joomla or FTP to move images to a folder. If you move them, you need to tell Phoca that the images are there.

You can do that in 2 ways: delete all images and create new ones.
or edit each image, and select the right image again. (see adding images: https://www.phoca.cz/documents/2-phoca-g ... ing-images)

You only see this huge list of images when you use multiple add. Whatever the folder structure on you server is, it has nothing to do with the structure of your categories and images.

To avoid this in future, can I do the following?

- Upload the images into a folder on the server e.g. images/phocagallery/beachimages (instead of just images/phocagallery)
- Have said images show up in the Phoca admin
- Then add them to the category?

yes, yes and yes.

when you go to multiple add, you see all images and folders which are in images/phocagallery
