Padding in the thumbnail

Padding in the thumbnail
I want to supress a padding effect in the thumbnails of images. the thumbnails is aligned to the top and in the bottom appears a white space or sometimes in the right. I want to supress the botton padding and i want to center the photo.

Which Joomla version?
Which php version?
Which frontend template?
