How do I show Description for sub-categories?

I have set up 4 categories in my gallery. Only one of these categories has sub categories. I would like to display just the top level categories from a link in the main menu, so I turned off "Display Subcategories", which works fine for the top level menu. I don't want to show any text for the individual photos, so I hide Display Name. The problem is, for the category that contains the subcategories, the subcategories are just displayed as thumbnails with no description. I want a subcategory menu that looks the same as the category menu.

To see my gallery, go to http://www.theapproximations.net. The Top menu looks fine, but when I click on Gigs, I want to see the list of gig subcategories laid out the same as the categories menu, with one column of thumbnails with the subcategory name next to it. How do I do this?

Hi, you can set that the name will be displayed below the subcategory and not below images or it will be displayed for both or it will be not displayed for both...

Since 2.2.1 which will be soon released, you can display subcategories above the images, see demo:

Thanks for the reply. Where exactly do I set this? For some reason, I can't find those options in the parameters settings.

Never mind. I think I found it. It displays the names below the images, and they are cropped. Is there any way to have subcategory names aligned next to the images, with one column of images like the main categories view?
