Using Joomla 1.5.9 and latest RC for Phoca
I can't find the documentation for the Java front end upload, so if the question is answered in the docs could someone please point me to where it is.
The new java upload for the front end nearly does what we need.
The edit category only appears to do that - edit one category per user. All photos are put in the one area and you can't specify a new category through the front end, just change it's name. Is that by design?
The Java upload is great for selecting and uploading multiple images, but it only places them in the one directory, which appears to be fixed by the user name, and you cannot specify what category the pictures should go to. Is that correct?

user in frontend can add only one category, so after adding he can edit it only (more categories or subcategories will be added in some next versions ... there is problem with security and framework)
User can upload only into his category but he can upload into all categories where he hase upload right, see:
