Editing Multiple Categories' Parameters

Post by spectre101 »

Hello:

The usual intro: I read through the user docs, searched the forums for "Editing Multiple Categories" and can't find the answer so apologies if this has been answered somewhere else.

I'm in the process of transferring 5,500 pictures from G2 to Phoca. In the time since my gallery was created, many users had their own albums and subalbums which they alone had access to. Now I'd like to change the default settings after I "Multiple Add" the images for the categories.

In particular, there are some user albums that have dozens of subcategories. I've tried using the check box on the menu list (Categories) page with the hope I can batch change parameters for multiple selected albums, but it defaults to the first album checked off and I end up having to change the user rights one at a time. Is there something I'm missing to allow me to do bulk changes to make my life a little easier? :x

I'm using J 1.5.9 with PG v2.2.0 Beta. Thank you. :)

Hi,

I am afraid not. I know some other user had the same kind of problem with entering descriptions. He decided to edit the tables in the database (phpmyadmin) because that's faster than opening and closing eacht image in the backend again.

I think that's also the only solution for you at the moment. it's far from perfect I know.

Hello Carolien:

Thank you for getting back to me. At least that tells me I'm not going crazy and I missed something. :| I also appreciate the phpadmin tip and I'm sure I can find the table data to change.

If this isn't a feature request, I'd like to make it one because it does place a serious limitation on users who administer large (or even midsize) galleries.

Again, thanks.

Regards,
