Ok, I give up.........have tried for two days to figure out how to remove a folder and or images, and how to get catagories organized, but nothing works. I find images, trash them, then find the folder/catagory (I think they are the same thing) and delete it, but it still shows up when i try to create a new folder and load corrected images...........is there no way to trash something with this plugin?
I have had nothing but frustration and problems with this galley since installing it!
All I want to do is create a folder/catagory, make it a child to a higher level catagory, then upload images to it and have them show up for my users when they choose the parent catagory!

Re: Disaster
Hi, file is not image and folder is not category. See documentation or similar posts in this forum. In Phoca Galery there is no fixed volume between file and image or category and folder. Phoca Gallery has independent database and filesystem layer.
Example: You can have Image A which is a file image.jpg in different categories, so one image.jpg file is here for image A or Image B or Image C - you have three images in your gallery but the use only one file. So you can copy or move the image but the files are all the same. The same with folders. You can have folder ABC and category ABC but the category ABC can have folder DEF.
So if you want to manage files and folders, use e.g. Phoca Commander - https://www.phoca.cz/phocacommander
Images and categories you can manage in Phoca Gallery.
Example: If you delete Image A, the original file of this image (image.jpg) is not deleted because it can be used as base for another images in gallery (e.g. for creating thumbnails, rotating, downloading, etc.) So it cannot be automatically deleted.
So deleting category or image does not mean, you delete the folder or file. It is independent filesystem and database layer
2) create subfoder DEF inside this folder
3) copy images to DEF
Go to Multiple Add and click on ABC and save it. Phoca Gallery automatically creates category ABC and subcategory DEF and creates thumbnails for the images inside the categories. This is all what needs to be done.
