There are different picture formats I added into my gallery. Some are standard 4:3 fullscreen and some are widescreen/panorama.
Is it possible that the automatic thumbnail creation keeps the aspect ratio of the image? By standard all thumbnails have the same format independent of the original file.
I read the Guide to resize thumbnails but that's not the solution for my problem.

Hi,
yes there is. In the Phoca Gallery configuration there is a setting called 'crop thumbnails' Set this to none and Phoca will just resize the thumbnails.

Ah thanks, the German translation was confusing so that I didn't recognize this option.
