Text by listing subcategories for Category List Layout

Hallo Phoca-Fans,

I use the menu type 'Category List Layout' and following settings:
Subcategories = "no" ; Display Emty Categories = "Yes"
This because I want to get a hierarchy like this:
year (main categ.) --> List of months (sub categ.) --> days (single images)
That works fine so far.

But how can I put in some text beside the linked picture on the first side every subcotegories are shown in the Webside??

Furthermore you see an symbol for a folder for every sub category. Is it possible to use a picture instead of that; probably one out of this category by random like in the list of main categories?

If somebody provides me an answers as an Joomla- and Phoca-Newbie I would be happy

About the other issue: you mean that you want to display a description besides the category name?

Yes, there´re a lot of settings, aren't there!

About the other issue: I mean a description above the list of all categories, not especially besides each single category name?
Like this in the frontend:

Text, text, text, text,
text, text, text, text,

• Categ. A (2)
  Categ. B (4)
  Categ. C (7)
  ... etc.
  
  I hope its well explained. Is there the possibility like this?
