Does Phoca Gallery v4.3.1. work on Joomla 2.5 as an upgrade?

I have created a new Joomla site with 3.6 which is on the same server as the old site Joomla 2.5. eg: domain.com/test
I have installed Phoca Gallery 4.3.1 on the new site.
Can I upgrade Phoca Gallery v3.2.2 (on Joomla v2.5) to Phoca v 4.3.1. This would then match up the table structures.
I was hoping to import/export the old information by exporting as a sql dump the old Phoca tables and import them. Then hoping that when I move the new site to the root folder all the links and data will just work.
On your downloads site it does not mention if previous versions of Joomla are compatible.
Is this possible?
