What a wonderful component! But I noticed that I can't seem to get it to make it so users can edit there photo's, but they can upload and edit there catigory... including admins.... exept for in the admin panel. Is there anyway to make it possible for my users to be able to edit there uploads? Any advice would be greatly appreciated! My site is http://www.cascadehikers.com/ oh and don't mind the joomgallery, I'm trying to make up my mind.... if users can edit and map... this one will most likly be my gallery.
Users can unpublish and delete there photo's... but is there some sort of mapping system for front end users?
Cheers Josh Lewis.

Re: User's cannot edit photo's
Hi,
users can add and edit a category for them...
and can get different rights for different categories:
- upload and add right (user can upload images into category where they have rights)
- publish/unpublish images
- remove images...

Re: User's cannot edit photo's
I hope you don't mind me asking but let's say I have a site were a lot of people are going to upload photo's... is this one of those galleries were I have to manually give the users permission? When I upload to the gallery that I created in the backend, I cannot see my uploads, and I set the permissions so that people can upload and edit.... pretty much giving full access to a catigory... but I do not see the uploads....
Although I can transfer photo's to that catigory... but then that catigory only has that photo, and will not allow me to upload more... when I click the little upload button in that catigory, it uploads, but does'nt appear... infact, in the admin panel under images it does'nt even appear!

Re: User's cannot edit photo's
My appologies for the miscommunication. Basically I created a catigory in the back end, and when loggen in as a user (front end) and uploada photo to the catigory that was created in the admin panel (backend) and even though I set the permissions so that anyone can edit, upload, and be a author of this catigory, I go to the little upload on the catigory (the one that has the rating on the same page) and I browse and upload, but then when I view it, nothings there?Jan wrote:Hi,

When I uploaded to my catigory created in the front end, I was able to upload to it... Do all catigories have to be created though the front end for the upload to work?

Re: User's cannot edit photo's
do you have enabled system messages in your template? maybe you get some template about e.g. not existing folder for the user (this need to be set in category - in admin - while editing category)... try to change the template to some standard like rhuk_milkyway is ... maybe you get some system message...

Re: User's cannot edit photo's
I've been using rhuk_milkyway template ever since I been using joomla... although I edited it here and there by resranging the module placements and getting rid of some pieces I did'nt like as much. Does my modifications to it have some effect?

I don't know? Just try it e.g. with other standard template... it is only about testing, try to enable some standard template which was not changed and see if you get some system message (only for testing)
