blank thumbs? incompatible with Joom!fish?

Hi,
I'm using joomla! Version 1.5.8 and Phoca Gallery 2.1.0 RC. I installed phoca in my localhost and server ftp. It works all right in localhost, but not in server ftp.
The problem is when I add images in a category, phoca creat a file of thumbs, but they are all blank, white. "automaticly creat thumbs" is ON. I work with Firefox in Mac. I changed the permission of files in 777 or 640, that doesn't change anything. I am the only user as super administrator.
Now I have to creat the thumbs in localhost, then upload the files in ftp.
I really want to make it work simplier. Help me!!!

Hi, see permissions (not only files but folders too), ownership and try to enable ftp layer...

Just another little question. I'm using Joom!fish to translate my site in 3 languages. But the components of Phoca (download, gallery, guestbook) seen not to be compatible. Can I do anyting to translate the categories and descriptions?

For example, if you enter "Portfolio" in english or chinese, there are always the file names in French.

I upload pics in zip pack through cpanel and then I unzip pictures in images/phocagallery. After that I create a category in Control Panel of Phoca, tick pics, chose the category and press safe button (thumbs are automatically created). It was so first time. But second time I wanted to create the next category with other pics I got blank thumbs of the first category. Phoca created new thumbs but previous thumbs (of the first category) disapeared. So I've got blank thumbs (for my first category) on site and in Control Panel. Phoca seemed to replace the thumbs. How to safe the previousle created thumbs?

Before I tried once again I chosed No for "Clean thumbnails" in Thumbnails Creation Settings Label (Control Panel Settings). This time it looks ok on my site but in Control Panel there are blank thumbs again for previously created pics (next to the blank thumbnail in Control Panel is written - Image Filename does not exist. And one more question... Is it possible to create pics in different folders? For now I see all my pictures (thumbs) in the same folder images/phocagallery/thumbs.

Hi, the best way is to prepare your images in different folders on your pc ... then you should upload the whole tree structure to your web (images/phocagallery folder ) and click on multiple add - save, Phoca will automatically create thumbs, categories and subcategories from folders and subfolders ... if you then will add some new pictures, just upload new pictures into the folders and click on multiple add, so Phoca will automatically add only new images into the created categories ... so try to delete all images with no created thumbs and try to add the images again...
