I played with Piclens over the weekend and discovered that it is using the original image uploaded for gallery creation. is there a possibility that an option could be added to use the original or large re-sized in thumb directory?
My originals are 2.5 meg on average (plus I want to delete them and that seems to cause issues with everything in the thumb directory getting deleted with out warning. Reported in another post) these are perfect for GD to re-size and compress but far to large to serve up over the web, and with the 3D wall application almost an impossibility.
I played with a program called Piclens Publisher (on the Cooliris site) and that produces re-sized images (and rss feed) that are between 50k to 100k with 8k thumbnails (same as large re-sized thumbs) and the results in 3D Wall are outstanding.
If the above is a possibility could I also request that when producing the piclens rss feed you write out as well one file that contains all the information from all the categories chosen. Like that it would be easy to link to a master 3D Wall that contains everything.

I'm not very clear having re-read this! In the Piclens settings there is the option to set to "thumnail" rather than original.
But what happens is you get the following if you use the Piclens / Catagories.
I was expecting for thumbnail url = the phoca_thumb_m_ version
and for content url = the phoca_thumb_l_ version
Having looked at this from outside my home network, where it's really hard to simulate the outside world, Cooliris does not seem to use at all the original image. Once the page is loaded you click the thum and it immediatly expands, no down loading at all. When I use the ones generated by Piclens Publisher after clicking the thumb it now downloads the original.

Hi, Phoca Gallery sends the large thumbnails to PicLens ... it is used for thumb and for detail displaying in Cooliris 3D... you can change it so original images will be displayed as detail in Cooliris 3D... but as default there is large thumbnail...
I don't know PicLens Publisher ?
