Subcategory is not limited to 20. no pagenation

I have my gallery setup as so

main1 | main2 | Main3

under main2 i have a subcategory will call it SUBCAT1

Under SUBCAT1 i have 87 Subcategories.

Now the problem

in the subcategory with 87 categories it shows ALL the categories even though its says DISPLAY NUMBER:20

this causes a a bit of a crunch on my server loading all the thumbnails from the subcats.

now when i go into one of the subcats with images in them is limits them by 20. but if its only categories (as my example above. it will not limit it to 20.

It should limit despite wether it is a category or an image. Once it limits it to 20 it should have pagenation so users have the option to choose next to see the next 20 categories.

So i guess were do i need to look in regards to patching this bug. so that pagenation works with subcategories the same way it does images.

- you can set own default pagination value
- you can set if subcategories will be displayed on every page

well see thats the problem.

by default it uses 5, 10, 20 ect.
if i have a category with only subcategories in it, then it will show all of them even if its set to 20.

so instead of only showing 20 subcats it shows all 86.

the same happens if i use custom.

the last option isnt useful because i want to shows the subcategories. so hiding them isnt going to help.
from what i can tell this isnt coded to use pagenation for subcategories. looks like its only coded for images.

so i guess this is a feature request to have pagenation work for subcategories the same way it does for images.

hmm... with the pagination and folders + images it is difficult... because if you set e.g. 20 items on the site and you will take categories + images together, you will not see any images only categories, but the problem is, you go to the next site, where you should next 20 items but you will still see categories and all pagination items will be confused ... this is why if you set 20 items you see 20 images but all folders I have tried many options how to solve it but this is the best way yet every other methods will e.g. damage truth of pagination items (pages/items)

Hi Jan, I've set Default Value Pagination to 50 images in the back end but on front-end the value is 20 yet. Is this a bug or my problem?
