Gallery rotating phone images

Hello

I apologize if there is already a topic on this subject, in that case I couldn't find it.

I have Phoca Gallery on my website and have an issue regarding phone uploads. Picture uploaded from PC is fine but from phone there is an issue.

The gallery rotates my images, either 90 degrees or 180.
I've tried some solutions I found but none worked (Actually I just couldn't upload any more when having those solutions implemented)

What can I do?

Hi, Phoca Gallery does not have any such feature, it does not rotate image when upload them, are you sure the phone does not do it?

Yes I am certain that it is the phone which creates the issue, Have tried from both Android and Apple OS and the problem is the same. When it is uploaded from the PC there is no problem at all. Though, if a picture is transfered from mobile to pc and in no way turned the Gallery still rotates them. I suspect that pictures from phones have some sort of.... attatchment? which cause them to rotate. If I transfer a picture from phone to pc, and make it rotate 90degrees then it is the rotated picture which is uploaded. If I don't rotate it beforehand, the picture rotates it self 90-180 degrees. It is very strange.

Alright, I'll just note people not to upload from phones. Thanks anyway - If other people encounter this and a solution is found I would love to hear from you.

Sounds like a problem with the EXIF data (many phones don't save the picture with the correct orientation since it would require calculation and therefore battery time. Instead they add some information how the viewer should rotate it. Very often programs remove this information to save space or simply because they don't know it. I guess this is what happens when you upload them in Joomla/Phoca.)

In version 4.3.0 they say: "Added new parameter: EXIF Rotate"
Maybe this will fix the problem, I could not check it so far.

I have tried to upgrade on my test page, which just lead to the following error when accesing the gallery on page:

Fatal error: Class 'Joomla\String\StringHelper' not found in /customers/5/0/0/fiftif.dk/httpd.www/MCklubben/administrator/components/com_phocagallery/libraries/phocagallery/text/text.php on line 17

I have, how ever moved this issue to an other thread containing update issues
