What access rights are needed to create categories?
Hi at the forum, we've implemented on our tabletennis club website photo albums with the Phoca Gallery component. We have several photographers that I want to enable to publish pictures in new albums (=categories) that they create themselves. The frontend panel doesn't help me here, since 1 user can only be owner of 1 category. In general settings I've tried to set access rights to allow access to admin interface, but I'm not sure what it should give me. I've now given one of the photographers full admin rights to the whole site, so he can create categories in the backend, but that's not my intention. Tricks, tips or clues how to do this properly are very welcome. Kind regards, Bart.

Hi, users can have one main category but unlimited count of subcategories - so maybe main category can be a name of user and he/she can then create different subcategories

Re: What access rights are needed to create categories?
Thanks Jan. This would mean that each user would have it's 'own' album with subalbums. But I also want users to be able to post in different albums, created by other users. And we have various events that each get their own album. Under General settings in Joomla, Phoca Gallery gives me the option to set access to admin interface. I've set this to grant permission to my users, but it only seems to work if I give them full backend access to Joomla. A bit too risky ...

Re: What access rights are needed to create categories?
Hi, in category view, in frontend, users can upload to each category, they have upload rights. So if you define that user A will have upload rights to category B, then user A:
1) in UCP can upload images only in case, he/she is the owner or the main category or this category
2) in category view - can upload images to this category (and it does not matter if he/she is the owner of this category)
