How to create sub-folder in phocagallery

Dear Esteemed members,

I am using phocagallery for the first time and I have hit dead end in creating sub-folders in phocagallery. This is what I am trying to do; I want to have a folder by name Fruits; Under the fruit folder; I want to create a sub-folder by name "Mango" "Apple" " Guava" and upload the different species of fruits in the respective folders.

eg. Fruits ----> Mango ---> Apple ----> Guava
Computer---> Laptop ----> Desktop

do you mean Phoca Gallery Sub-Categories?
or do you mean folders in your webspace?

BTW.: Which Phoca Gallery Component version and which Joomla! version do you use?

I am using 4.2.2 version.

As of now I don't know what to call; Okay let me put my requirements this way; I want to have a 5 to 7 main folders and create many sub-folders in respective main folders. The sub-folder would contain 4 to 5 images each. Kindly help me. I am using joomla 3.3.6

Ok. I think you mean Phoca Gallery Categories.
Go to: backend --> Components --> Phoca Gallery --> Categories --> New -->

See images:
1.)


2.)


...and so on.

Then loadup your images to this Sub-Categories.

Thank you Sir for the detail explanation. I did exactly as you instructed but the images in the mango category does not show up inside the fruits folder. Instead its showing along the fruits category. I really appreciate your help and support.

Like any folder in a windows OS; I would like to create a main folder by name " Fruits" and create different kinds of fruits folder inside the Main folder like mango apple and so on and display the different kinds of mango inside fruits-->Mango---> 3 to 4 images of different kinds of mango and so on.

Sir,
I am not able to insert image and I find insecure posting my url as my site is still under construction; I have followed these steps
1. Created a category by name "Fruit" without a parent
2. Created a sub category " Mango" under the parent name fruit
3. Created another sub category " Apple" under the parent name fruit
4. I uploaded the images under mango and apple respectively.

Now I want to display fruits folder first and when clicked on fruits folder; Mango and apple folder should appear with images which have been categorised inside the mango and apple folder.

However there is no fruit folder; instead apple and mango folder directly appears in the front end.

Sounds like you have created a menu item to Phoca Gallery Component (List of Categories).
This is fine, but you need to configure this menu item:
Go to: backend --> Components --> Phoca Gallery --> Control Panel --> Options --> Categories View --> Categories View Settings -->
Display Subcategories=No
Display Empty Categories=Yes
Save & Close
