images showing as white boxes

i am at a loss. I am using joomla 3.4.6 and phoca gallery 4.2.2
everytime i upload a image using add image or multiple image.. it shows in the admin that the thumbnails are created.. how ever on the front end they show as white boxes... as if the thumbnails were not created. I am at a loss. I have tried to re installed the component.. and turned off all the extra phoca plugins.. and still the same result. All the images are jpg and even tried pngs.

how do i resolve this issue.. or is phoca gallery not compatible with the newest version of Joomla?

I have already seen that post and tried to ensure all the setting are the same. How ever the settings are the same and i am still getting white boxes.

Hi,
When all the settings are like in the screenshot and highlighted in green (except the first) it means, your server is able to create thumbnails (the PHP GD-library is properly installed and functioning) and in the Phoca Gallery Options, this is also switched on (Enable Thumbnail Generation = Yes). So I know no real reason why it is not working.
What you can do:
Check ownership & permissions of files and folders.
Check thumbnail creation with single upload.
Check thumbnail creation with smaller original & smaller thumbnail sizes.

i have checked the folders permissions and they are set to 755. The thumbnails are being created (with single and batch upload) and i can see them in the folder directory. They are just not appearing in the front end of the website withe Phoca Gallery view. I have even re installed new and old versions seeing if that was the issue. I really do not want to switch away from Phoca gallery as it has been a great system.. but i am at a loss on how to correct this issue.
