Hello,
I am going to create a Joomla website for a wedding photographer. I would like the site to display pictures from events like weddings. A bride or groom could then access the part of the site with their images by using a password or other means to view their pictures of the event (images could be watermarked) does Phoca Gallery have this type of functionality?
Thank you very much for your advise.
Elizabeth

this is really unclear: "options > Users etc. https://www.phoca.cz/documents/2-phoca-g ... e-joomla-3"
I do not understand... would that be a yes or a no to the question
does Phoca Gallery have this type of functionality?
Thank you for explaining your answer some more.

Hi Elizabeth,
again
https://www.phoca.cz/documents/2-phoca-g ... e-joomla-3
Go to: Components - Phoca Gallery - Control Panel - click on icon Options
Users > Access Level - Registered Users > Set access levels for registered users. Some actions in frontend can be done by registered users only (e.g. rating or commenting). Set which access level group will be regarded as registered group.
User Control Panel Settings > Enable User Control Panel etc > (Yes | No) Enable or disable User Control Panel for registered users
Upload Settings > Enable User Upload Image Authorization > (Yes | No) If YES the uploaded image will be set as not authorized and must be authorized by administrator. If NO the uploaded image will be set as authorized
etc.
In addition: Have also a look please to the screenshot of colleague Benno: viewtopic.php?f=1&t=37723

Kind regards, Christine

Re: Wondering if Phoca Gallery has a Certain Functionality
Thank you for your answer... I have copied and saved it.. however.. to simplify...
As I am trying to figure out if I can use this component to make a website for a photographer.. the site has to have the capability to enable say a bride to enter an area where her event pictures are with a password or something similar so that she can see the pictures yet noone else can unless they have the password. I know about permissions.. but I think access in that case is for a "set" of people meaning more than one.... not just an individual and there may be as many as 50.. Please let me know...
Thank you so much.

Hi Elizabeth,
In this case (before setting for later Users access/groups etc) [see previous posts] - I would use a .htaccess file for the site.
That means: Only the bride has access to the "frontend".
Here some links: 2 in german, 1 in english:
http://www.web266.de/tutorials/wordpres ... ess/xssen/
http://www.htpasswdgenerator.de/
http://www.htaccesstools.com/htpasswd-generator/
Some hosters also provide/offers above .htaccess generator in there panel.
Kind regards, Christine

Hi, you can add more user accounts in your system and then add the login data to people you select.
E.g. you will create a login with family name and you can send the login and password to only one user or to more users (complete family) - it depend the situation.
Someone who will know the password gets the link to category where he/she ads the login/password and can see the photos inside the category
