PG stopped creating thumbnails

Hi there

I have read the manual and several other posts on this but not found a solution. I think PG has hit a memory limit somewhere and now cannot create any more thumbnails - is there any such memory limit parameter? If yes, please advise where in the settings I can find this.

The symptoms:
When I add new images, PG shows the thumbnail generation screen but in the top-right where it would normally show progress, there is nothing, just the link to "stop TB creation". The result: several of my newly added images do not have thumbnails. Selecting them and clicking "recreate thumbnail" does not solve the problem.

What I have checked:
1. My server space is only 1.66GB out of 4.88GB, so I have space.
1. The TB folder perms are 755
3. The "enable TB creation" setting was YES but keeps automatically changing back to NO. I set it to yes, the next time TB creation is attempted, it reverts to no.
4. the problem is not related to specific images. E.g. if I delete some existing images that have TBs, then try to create TBS for my new images, it works.

So...looks like it is maxing out on a memory setting somewhere... Please can you urgently advise as this is stopping all new images being added to the site.

Have you tried this:

Components > Phoca Gallery > Control Panel
Then go to Options (Top Right corner ) and go to Thumbnails tab

Controll there function "Enable Thumbnails Generation" is YES or No
There must be YES

Hi, I don't understand the 3. Phoca Gallery does not have any mechanism, which disables the thumbnail creation, this can be only disabled when user clicks on the link to disable it

Thanks for your reply. I have seen on older threads that when PG encounters an error creating thumbnails, it disables thumbnail creation. I believe this is what is happening here. Is it clear now?

Hi, I don't know this function, it only displays you a link where you can stop it, but I think, there is no automatically function for this
