phoca gallery upgrade

Hello !

Seen today the new release.
Done several tweeks to componenti and plugin.

Question: what happens to my existing installati on when upgrading? Will conf file (all oncluding assets...) and database be safe?

Hi, the uprading does work like by Joomla! - it is standard upgrade method, when upgrading:

- database is not affected, data not removed
- Options are stored in Joomla! tables not in Phoca Gallery tables and are not changed when upgrading.

What is changing, are the files, so if you did some customization in files, such needs to be backed up.

UPGRADE means, you don't uninstall previous version. You just install the new one over the old one.

OK so have i to remember all the changes done and do again on new files after upgrade or is sufficient to save them somewhere and ovetwrite then?

Hi, mostly the best way is to compare the files and add the changes to the file
