Wrong category ordering by date !?

If i sort my 5 categories by date descendig - i get this order in categories view (month-year):

8-2014, 4-2015, 4-2015, 3-2015, 3-2015

This is wrong - it should be:

4-2015, 4-2015, 3-2015, 3-2015, 8-2014

This must be a bug in the PhocaGalleryOrdering::renderOrderingFront ??

Hi, Phoca Gallery does not order the items, they are ordered in your database, Phoca Gallery only ask: date ascending or date descending - so try to look at your database settings.

So Phoca Gallery asks your database to order date - "order by date desc" or "order by date asc" - the ordering then is set by your settings in database.

Ehmm.. sorry but which settings would that be - it works correct al other places in Joomla ??

Ahaa.. now I know what is going wrong. If you have a parent category with no pictures and a date of.. say 08-2015, and then a sub-category of that category with the date of 08-2014, then the date of the parent category is deciding the order in relation to other parent categories - not the actual date of the sub-category. Maybe that makes sense in the big picture - but would be better that the sort order was decided at the individual category level, and not related to the parent - as the parents might have been created a long time ago ....!?

Hi, the problem is, the tree has always the priority - then other ordering methods are done. It is not possible to break the tree
