Different thumbnail sizes for different categories

Hi!
I don't know if that has already been answered, but I looked around and could not find a post about this....So sorry if it exists already!
In my website, I have different galleries for different purposes. For example, I have a page for the Board of directors, where I have all of their photos, in portrait orientation, someqhat small sized. In the Clubhouse section, I have different images of the dining rooms, patio etc, most of them in landscape, and bigger sized.
Is it possible to have different "medium-sized" thumbnails for each category, accessed ? Those categories are accessible each through a menu item. I tried setting the parameters in the menu Item so the thumbnails are created with those settings, and then recreating the thumbnails, deleting them manually and recreating them, but, no success. They are always created with the global parameters settings....Is that normal? Can i do what I am trying to do or is this not supported by phoca?
Thanks a lot!!!!
Catherine
