Hi there !

I"m using a fresh install of joomla 1.5.15 and Phocagallery 2.6.1. Actually, it's the first and only component installed.

I managed to upload a large quantity of photos to my FTP, and I wanted to create thumbnails. It worked for a while but suddenly, i got an error 500.

Now I can loginto the admin section, i can go the the phoca gallery component, but i cannot enter the "image" section anymore... it says : Error 500, an unattended error happened, please try again later.

My hoster is 1and1.fr

Who should I blame ? phoca ou my hoster ?
what can I do now ?

I had to create a php.ini file with this :
memory_limit = 32M

then I had to copy it in each and every directory of my website (my hoster provided a script for that, don't worry...)

Then I had to disable the "thumbnail creation" feature. and I had my access bakc to the "image" section.

I, then, re-enabled the thumbnail creation feature and started all over again, no more error 500...

Hope it'll help someone.

Hi, I am facing this issue as well.
However, my php_config already set memory_limit = 32M from phpinfo().
Mind anyone can give help in this? Tried his way but still getting an error:
500 - View not found [name, type, prefix]: phocagallerys,html,phocagalleryView

I get this error too. however I have a 40M limit. ANY help would be great

I just found out something that it might be useful for debugging this issue.
So far I uploaded a few more images and notice something: I only face this issue to a gallery that has many pictures... For gallery that is below 100 images, thumbnail creation is working perfectly.

I have the same problem uploading 500+ pics and my solution this extension in firefox http://reloadevery.mozdev.org/ i ve set up the reload time for every 30sec that is the apprx time i got the error.. but i understand the server is doing the work so is normal that from time to time it goes to 500error

I am also using 1and1 with a 40mb memory limit and I can't even upload 3 photos. I can upload 2 photos, but as soon as I try to click New, enter in the info, then browse to the file I want to upload, it goes to a 500 internal server error. I also tried this on a different server with a different host and all works fine. My issue is, what needs to change on the 1and1 server? Where do I even start to look. I have installed a phpinfo.php on the server, but out of those options, I don't know which one needs to change. Please, anyone help.

For me, I uses iMacros for Firefox to help me automate the processing of clicking back and forward.

Nevertheless with the problems, this is still a great web gallery. Really appreciated Jan for making this GNU/GPL.
