Finder plugin on J6

Hi,
I’ve had to disable the finder plugin (v5.0.10) on my J6 site as it causes issues when enabled, even with the J6 b/c plugin enabled.
Is there a a J6-compatible version on the horizon, please?
Would be be nice to have…
Many thanks for all you do

Hi,
see:
https://www.phoca.cz/download/68-phoca- ... der-plugin
No, there is currently no J6 Phoca Download Finder plugin available.
Kind regards,
Benno

Thank you for the info; I’ve disabled the finder files and categories plugins for now.
The “button” plugin seems to work okay though

Does this mean that it is not possible to use the search (finder) for the Phoca Download component with Joomla! 6?
My site is already on Joomla! 6 and I only notice today that I cannot register anything on the site if one of Phoca Download's Finder plugins is activated.
I haven't tested yet, but would one solution be to put the component back in version 5.1.3? Is there a backward-compatibility? Is it possible to go back? Or another solution?

Hi, the component has in fact nothing to do with search. The module is Joomla module which searches in Phoca Download files, so the only way is having the module ready for Joomla 6 (unofortunately, there were some break changes, so it takes a lot of time to overwrite them all

)

Sorry I missed your answer. Thank you for informations!
I can well imagine that it’s work. Is it possible to help in some way or another?
I understand that the component and the Finder plugin are two separate things. However, I had an error saving a file in the component if I left the plugin enabled. This is no longer the case since the last update: I can save files without errors even if both Phoca Finder plugins are activated.
What do you mean by "module"? Is it the Finder plugin or something else?

I tried to revert to Phoca Download 5.1.3. It seems to work fine but the indexing ends with an error message.
I understand what you mean by having a module ready for Joomla! 6.
I deduce that the error message below, which I encounter at the end of indexing, is related to this need to redevelop your plugins specifically for J!6. Do you confirm this?
An Error Has Occurred
Joomla\Registry\Format\Json::stringToObject(): Argument #1 ($data) must be of type string, null given, called in /home/site/libraries/vendor/joomla/registry/src/Registry.php on line 335
Phocadownload
150 of 182
Phocadownloadcategory
0 of 1
Also note that the error occurs only with the plugin Phocadownloadcategory. If I deactivate it, I no longer have the error, but the indexing still does not add the new elements created in the Phoca Download files (title corrected, description added).

Hi, in version 6, not only the namespaces changes, there were more changes.
If you look at:
https://www.phoca.cz/download/99-phoca- ... s?start=40
there are two Phoca Cart Finder plugins, when you see the code of both of them, you can then make similar changes to the Phoca Download Finder plugin so they will be ready for Joomla 6

Is the suggestion to make changes yourself a declaration that there will be no official plugin for Joomla 6? I greatly appreciate your work and would like to clarify this. Regards.
