Reduce Thumbnails Preview in Post

Hello,
first of all: I have some questions, but I am really satisfied with Phoca-Gallery! Even if there might not be any setting options for some things.
What I doubt is that there is a way in a post to use the "Gallery button" to limit the thumbnail preview to, say, 5 images. The Lightbox then shows the actual/real 15-image-Gallery.
In short: simply reduce the number of thumbnails in the preview, in the post.
THX
Edit: I've already tried all the options: Limit Start - Limit Count - Maximum Number of Images. That seems to be something like that. But no matter how I twist and turn it, I don't get 5 images in the preview but 15 in the lightbox.

Hi, can you paste some screenshots of what do you exactly mean? Which Phoca Gallery version do you use?
Generally - Modal windows just displays all the images which are listed on the site

This screenshot shows the post. Only four images should be visible in the post / in all posts, even if the gallery has 12 or 20 images, for example.

The remaining images should be visible in the lightbox (Photoswipe).
Reason is: We sometimes have galleries with 20 to 30 pictures and that would destroy the layout and the overview. First of all, the simple folder view in the post is not very nice and when you enter the gallery, there is no way back to the post.
I use Phoca-Gallery 4.5.2, Phoca button 4.5.2 and Phoca-Gallery-Plugin 4.5.4
Generally - Modal windows just displays all the images which are listed on the site
That would be a shame, but I guess it can't be changed :(

Hi, yes, as written above, this is the Javascript popup library feature. It just displays images in popup which are listed on the site, so e.g. the solution can be somehow change the code (html or css) to hide all other images from displaying in list, etc.

Which even could be not so easy because the Javascript popup libraries work with all images. E.g. if you close the modal window, the design effect send the last displayed image back to the small thumbnail place, etc. etc.

Okay, that sounds like a lot (too much) work and/or intervention.
For this reason, we previously had a slider solution. Unfortunately, this slider then recently interfered with an accordion function (FAQ). Both were on every single page/post, 270 total.
In addition, all 30 images (190 - 390 kilobytes, depending on the level of detail) were loaded when you visited the page, because there were no preview thumbnails created. Bad for mobile devices and visitors with low data volume.
Oh, well. Let's see ..., I'm a bit at a loss now and have no idea, but let's see.
In any case, thanks for the attention. Otherwise, Phoca is a top product. For now, we keep using Phoca. It just can't do everything for everyone.
THX 😏
