bad orientation, help needed

Hi,
I upload with Multiple Add a complete directory of photos. The problem is that many of them have the bad orientation. When I try to open locally (on my PC) one of these pictures (with Gimp for example), it reads Exif information and rotates the photo. Can Phoca gallery do the same? Do I have to preprocess my pictures before uploading them?
Any hint appreciated!

Hi, there are a lot of ways.
- you can do it on your PC and upload it converted
- you can use Java Upload and convert it there - only thumbnails are converted
- you can rotate it in images list (but only per one image) - only thumbnails are converted

Hi Jan,
thank you very much for your answer, I know you're busy answering all the requests (you're really a Phoca hero!).
Concerning my question, I knew that I can rotate each picture one by one, I was just looking for a way to have my pictures automatically rotated (after all the info is in the exif, isn't it?). It's a little bit annoying to do it one by one but if there is no other way, it's ok. By the way, when you say to do it before uploading pictures, in my Picasa, they have already the good orientation.
Anyway, thank you for your help and for all the work you're doing for the community, Phoca is a great extension!

Hi, Picasa display the image as rotated but on the disc it must be not rotated,
Anyway, if you are using Picasa, see:
