I'm using Gallery v 4.5 with Joomla 4.

I'd like to do some configuration of the various views, but it seems that a lot of the options (eg background colour, font details etc) which are listed in the documentation are not available for editing via the Options menus.

Is this level of configuration not possible with Joomla 4?

Not more available since Joomla 3 Version.

The best way to change it via CSS entries. Checking with developer tool, inserting to e.g. Cassiopeia: user.css, and/or other templates: e.g. custom.css.
