Entering catagories in Phoca gallery 4.5

Hi Jan,

since the migration to Joomla 4 i miss the combobox for phoca catqagories when for instance entering a new menu item...
In the joomla 3 version i coulld just enter the first letters and the desired catagory would be found. Now I do have to scroll through the whole list. I.e. now it is a dropdown instead of a dropdown/combo field.

An example:
I am creating a new menu-item "2022" for flowers of the Borage family. So I enter as titel "2022", enter an alias and select the menu type : Phoca gallery - List of Images. Then I have to select an item from the catagory list...
When I click select catagory, in joomla 3 you would get an combination of dropdown and data entry (combo field) where i would type e.g. "bora" and get immidiately the Borage catagory...But now I do need to scroll through the list...

Hi, I don't know what do you exactly mean but maybe you mean a selectbox powered by chosen, where it was possible to enter value and the selected value was filtered. This feature was removed by Joomla 4 core developers - unfortunately, like many great jQuery libraries. I will try to see if there can be some way to run sumilar feature (mostly, there were a lot of ways with help of jQuery but when removing jQuery libraries from Joomla 4, the options now are very limited and when there is similar funciton, it is very difficult to implement it )

thank you for your Issue #37659. The PR https://github.com/joomla/joomla-cms/pull/37693 becomes RTC.
