Hello phocas
I am looking for a gallery for a club homepage that can do the following:
Our club image-cloud is connected to the Joomla media folder. Means: If I create a new subfolder for photos of a certain event in the cloud, this is also created in the joomla media in the same way. The sense behind this is that later different club groups keep their group page on the page itself with pictures up to date and get certain user rights through the cloud.
Now i want to know if these necessary points are possible with phoca gallerie:

1) Because the pictures are automatically synced into the joomla media, I do not have to upload the pictures again. Therefore I am looking for a Gallery, which can access a media folder and automatically extract the images from there WITHOUT creating a separate image folder. (Then the sync with the cloud wouldn't make sense).

2. if I upload more photos into an already existing folder with an already running Gallery, the next time I open the Gallery, the other pictures should also be displayed automatically

3. because of the different club groups I have to be able to refer the Gallery to different subfolders of the media, so not just a general path

4. the photos are usually held directly from the mobile phone into the cloud and therefore have a high file size, which results in longer loading times, so the gallery should have pre-settable px/dpi options to shorten the loading times.

5. automatic addition of a watermark.

Hi,

1) In Phoca Gallery you can import images from Google Picasa/Photos/Plus (now problematic because of no option to create public albums in Google P.) or imgur.

When importing, only items (links) are imported, no the images itself, so all (images and thumbnails) are stored on external server, see example:
https://www.phoca.cz/phocacart - the screenshots at the bottom are stored on imgur.

If you have some specific script which creates folders and images in Joomla! media folder (e.g. in case of Phoca Gallery in images/phocagallery) then Phoca Gallery has "Multiple Add Funtion" which is used to add all images at once (when some of the images exist, only new will be added)

2) If you upload new images to some Phoca Gallery folder (not category) then you can add new (update) with "Multiple Add" button, there is no automatic way.

3) Phoca Gallery has independent file system and database system layer, so it does not matter in which folder image is physically stored, but in which category it belongs to

4) When uploading to Phoca Gallery with help of Phoca Gallery multiple upload, this rule can be set and the images are uploaded in specific format (and then thumbnails even can have own format

5) When creating thumbnails, watermark can be automatically added.

So this can work but only if the images will be managed in Phoca Gallery, if they are not managed directly in Phoca Gallery or some automation is required, this all needs to be done in customized scripts. Phoca Gallery does not include any specific external scripts for automatic synchronization or automatic addition of images, etc. So I think, it will not work without customization
