I upgraded a website from Joomla 2.6 to Joomla 3.6. In the old site the gallery was divided in empty parent-categories (2013, 2014, 2015 and so on). The photo's are saved in subcategories.
In the Joomla 2.5 - site all worked fine. However in the Joomla 3.6 - site the (empty) parent-categories are not shown. Only the subcategories.
When the options are set to 'Show subcategories' to 'No' and 'Show empty categories' to 'Yes' noting is shown.
When the options are set to 'Show subcategories' to 'Yes' and 'Show empty categories' to 'Yes' only the subcategories are shown.
The server where the site is placed runs with PHP 7.0.15 and is a 'https' server. See the site on https://nieuw.heiligethomas.nl/fotoalbum.
What is going wrong?

Hi, which version of Phoca Gallery do you use? Where exactly do you get the problem? In categories view or category view?

Phoca Gallery 4.3.4.
You see the Gallery on https://nieuw.heiligethomas.nl/index.php/fotoalbum
The album is 'categories view'.

@ Jan,

just checked again. It seems, that the previous "sub-domain" > nieuw./ has been removed.
So, the current link is now: https://heiligethomas.nl/onze-parochie/fotoalbum

When klickling on e.g. 1 catgegory (Afscheid diaken) and then using back button the problem will be seen. Thanks, Christine.

Is the parameter "Display Empty Categories" enabled in CATEGORIES VIEW (Options - Categories View, I mean not in category view but in categories view)?
