Gallery plugin fails since Joomla 2.5 to 3.6 upgrade

Since upgrading from Joomla 2.5 to 3.6.2 using SP Transfer, I have not been able to use the 'view' function in the Phoca Gallery Component plugin.
In the plugin, I have the this Warning: str_repeat(): Second argument has to be greater than or equal to 0 in /home/titsey/public_html/J3/libraries/cms/form/field/menuitem.php on line 220
Does anybody have any ideas how to resolve this issue?
