My paintings are displayed vertically instead of horizontally as it can be changed ?

Do you use Phoca Gallery Plugin and if yes, which version do you use?
Which Joomla! version do you use?

how do I do that?

Go to: backend --> Extensions --> Templates --> Styles --> protostar - Default --> Default
Then check the link you mailed me in frontend.
If now the Phoca Gallery Category view is ok (horizontal ordered thumbnails), you need to check the css files of your template.
