Hi -

I've tried to search the forum but can't find the answer. I'm new to Phoca Gallery and I'm sure I'm doing something wrong but can't figure out what.

Two questions:

1 - I don't see an administration tab on the control panel or any "Parameters" butting. I see no way to change any parameters. I followed the installation steps - basically used Jooma to upload and unzip the file. Everything looked good.

I FTP one folder with no pictures and 3 subfolders, with 4 and 4 and 1 images. Uploading works fine. Then use images/multiple add, and click the folder for the top level, then press save. The images appear to get uploaded, the categories DO get created, but thumbnails do not. But, "Thumbnail Creation Status" is set to off (red X).

When I go to the images page it lists the 9 images I've tried to upload but under image, there is a "broken image" graphic in the Image column.

When I add a menu item I can see the folders, but (1) no thumbnail, and (2) when I click on the images, they also don't exist.

So it seems like Phoca is getting it partly right, but not completely.


Permissions from Phocagallery down are all set to 755.

Again, I'm sure I'm doing something wrong, but not sure what.

Hi -

I found the admin/parameters and am now able to see thumbnails, in most cases.

When I first click on the menu item - which I've named (of course) "Photo Gallery" I see a list of 3 albums vertically along with a photo from each album on the left of the text, like so...

Then when I select an album, it shows me the pictures, but when I click on the big "LEFT ARRROW Icon" next to the pictures, it takes me to a horizontal list of the albums with no thumbnails, with the big left arrow icon on the left of the horizontal icon (sorry it's not displaying correctly below).

Clicking on that brings me back to the vertical list described above.


Again, I'm sure I'm doing something wrong, so any help would be appreciated.

I know I'm close, but I'm still having the problem described in my last post and can't figure out how to get around it. If anyone could help, that would be great.
