I downloade the version named 2.5.4 and upgraded.
The info gives me version 2.5.3 !
I defined categories and subcats for my images.
The images are to be loaded to the subcat /public_html/images/phocagallery/bois_brut/acacia/

Should the thumbtag be loaded to /public_html/images/phocagallery/bois_brut/acacia/thumbs
or to /public_html/images/phocagallery/bois_brut/thumbs
the error message stays Error. Unable to upload file.
When I try to create and upload new (other) image to /public_html/images/phocagallery/bois_brut/buis/I still get the (old) error message:
Phoca Gallery is creating thumbnail(s) now. Please wait...

I have done some testing and concluded that images can only be assigned to main categories and NOT to subcategories!!
This is really not so neat for organizing!!
Can you correct this Jan?
TIA

Hi, this seems like some permissions or ownership problem. If you can access the root folder but not the subfolders, maybe their permissions or ownership is other and you cannot access them :-( try to see if there are different rights and ownership of folders you can access and folders you cannot access.

Yes that was the problem.
The /cat/thumbs dir is created automaticly but I needed to change the rights manually.
