Hi, do you install the theme in Phoca Gallery - Theme view?

Was the Phoca Gallery installed with the same ownership as the theme (via FTP)? - It means - have Phoca Gallery folders the same ownership as your ftp account?

Just to add to this subject - had the same problem today. finally I found that in the cms_root/components/com_phocagallery/assets/images folder have been some png's and gif's which have not been able to set to 777 in order to overwrite them through the theme install procedure. I had to delete them first and load them up again to set them to 777.
I assume two things:
1. Live site and not in mainentance mode - what if somebody uses the icons right in that time when you try to apply the theme?!
2. Bug in the host system of my provider - means even as root ftp admin not enough rights to set the permissions. I was using filezilla

Anyhow I tought this might be interesting to somebody else

Hi,

1. User are getting the images from the server, so they get images which are already on the server.

I figured I would pick a relevant topic instead of wasting space.. sorry if I'm wrong.

But.....

I am now having a similar problem. I was able to edit/zip/upload themes fine and then on approximately my 6th revision, I started receiving an error.
Error! Could not find a Joomla! XML setup file in the package.
Unable to find Theme Install package
I have looked through over and over.. The theme.xml is there, I've tried compressing both the theme folder itself AND compressing JUST the images/theme files into a com_phocagallery_xxxxx.zip .. same error.

I am unable to modify any files in the com_phocagallery/assets/images directory.. I saw a few people have said that deleting and reuploading worked..? but I can't figure it out....

Help is GREATLY appreciated !
thanks....

Hi, maybe you should check your permissions and ownership of your folder and files. Try to check install it with ftp layer enabled/disabled. Did you get this error in case you select all 3 options:
Apply to Component (only Color Variation in Default Settings of Phoca Gallery component will be changed)
Apply to Categories (all Color Variation in all Phoca Gallery Categories Menu links will be changed)
Apply to Category (all Color Variation in all Phoca Gallery Category Menu links will be changed)
or if none of the is selected?

It was actually when I applied to all 3.

I found out the problem I was having was that I was only naming the theme "com_phocagallery_x.zip", and what was compressed in that was a Folder with my theme/images- but with a different name..

I am not sure if you can just compress the theme.xml & images into a ''com_phocagallery_theme.zip'', but I now know if you compress a folder with the theme & images that the folder must ALSO be named ''com_phocagallery_yourtheme.zip''...

I am now having other theme issues...

Thanks Jan !
