Show thumbnails as is in the original photo

Hay All,

I couldn't find any topic about this issue/wish. So I wil start it here:

It would be really great if the thumbnail will be shown as they are in the original photo. So if the original photo is portrait, the thumbnail should shown up as portrait to. Now the thumbs are crop and some essential part of the picture will be lost (eg. the thumb is showing a body without head :o ).
When showing the detail image, a portrait photo is displayed in the right way.

Is there already somebody who customized the thumbview to realize this? Or maybe this can become a standerd for the Phoca gallery.

It is really a great integrated gallery for Joomla! Go on Phoca crew!

Hi, you can disable the crop function in parameters, see:
https://www.phoca.cz/documents/2-phoca-g ... -menu-item

Cropping effect is enabled for small and medium thumbnails as default, not for large thumbnails.

Hay Jan,

Thanks for your quick response, great! That is almost what I want. Only now the portrait photo is not in the same size as the lanscape photo but smaller. At the following link I will show what I mean: http://coppermine-gallery.net/demo/cpg1 ... p?album=29
So when eg. when the thumbnail for landscape is 100x75 then the size for the portrait would be 75x100. I realize that this has more impact because the

"phocagallery-box-file-first"
"phocagallery-box-file-second"
"phocagallery-box-file-third"

have fixed sizes (100px). Now these are squares and when and portrait thumb will be displayed the boxheight has to heigher. Also there needs to be two shadow images for portrait and landscape. And so on :(
I hope I made it clear?

Walter Kamer

Hi, the height in Phoca Gallery needs to be same on every image (landscape, portrait), because of float boxes which are all the same, so if there is a portrait image, it will be resized to have the same height as possible landscape image, so all images will have the same size. So, e.g. if there is 100 px height and no crop function is enabled, mostly landscape image get no 100px height but e.g. 75px and the landscape get 100px. And then the complete size (widht, height) will be set so no destroing of image will be done.

So the images are resized so all boxes will have same height and width.

Jan,

The option to do 'no crop' is what I meant, great. Now there is only one wish  Is there a posibility to create a shadow, that fits around the image, while the thumbnails are auto-created? This would be wonderful. Or maybe a more simple solution to have the option to set the border (and border color) around the image?

P.S. you're doing a great job with this gallery!
