Multiple add tips and tricks

Ok my disclaimer is I am a newb and no coder at all. I am persistent and use google faithfully. In the past month I have found and solved many problems I had with installed 17,000 images into phoca gallery.
A tool for linux users should be considered. Phatch is a batch image editor. It resizes, compresses renames, changes JPG to jpg, size down only. All kinds of options.
My settings are set at
1600X1200 size down only
jpg, 100% quality, check for errors.
After processing and removing the truncated images move on to next step.
Phoca will not make thumbnails with images that have # or % in the name. so I had to skim through and find these and fix them. A lot of work yes but phoca isn't set up to fix this.
Step 3 upload to phocafolder in images using folders as a representation of your category tree.
Multi add pick the root folder in each major category, I found that the categories won't show up when clicked on so this is a one take show.
Once this step is finished. hit up each category to create thumbnails if you have added more then 5000 then do not do all at once.
If you want to spend the time to clear up my instruction all the power to ya. I am not paid to do this it is my contribution.
An improvement I would like to see is 500 images per page option.
