Back Button Blues & Front End Category Creation

I've recently installed Phoca Gallery and it's one of the best Joomla Galleries out there.
I'm having one or two problems with it and the search function here didn't help much.
1. Back Button:
I've enabled and disabled and generally played around with the back button settings with in the parameters menu. For some reason, the back button dissapears at a certain catagory when moving back from it's contents.
E.G.
Main Gallery
|
-- Sub Category
|
-- Sub-Sub Category
Moving from Main -> Sub-Cat -> Sub-Sub-Category, the back button remains visible throughout. The minute I press the back button from Sub-Sub Catagory -> Sub-Catagory, the back button is NOT visible.
Is there a way to fix this? I'm referring to the back button that appears outside of the actual gallery. The one on the top left.
2. I need some of my users to be able to create and edit categories in the front-end. It seems to me that only 1 category can be created on the front end and edited at a time. How do I give more control to certain front end users without compromising security by giving them back-end access?
3. When changing thumbnail sizes, you need to click on the X with a green checkmark on it within images to delete and remake the thumbnails. I've only been able to do this one at a time and this is getting tedius. Is there a way to select ALL images and "delete and remake thumbnail" them at the same time?
I thank you in advance for your time and answers.
Kind regards,
Wonko

could you check if the url's are the same of the sub-category when you go forth and back?

Users can own only 1 category and change the name of that category. You can give users upload, publish and deleting rights for more than 1 category. Go to components > phoca gallery > categories and select users for those rights. (more info:
https://www.phoca.cz/documents/2-phoca-g ... ser-upload )

Go to your server and delete the 'thumbs' folder, then all images will be recreated.

for your quick reply carolien.
1. I had a look at the urls and I see I've made a mistake in the problem description. The button doesn't appear and disapear as I thought. ALL of the FIRST sub-categories lack the back button, but if I go deeper into the hierarchy the back button is visible. The "Categories view back button" functions in all situations, but my client asked me to remove it and use the regular back button.
2. That is a shame. My clients need to be able to create categories and or rename existing categories. Uploading to existing categories is not a problem as I've found how to assign users upload rights to certain categories.
If I cannot give users this function via the front-end, is there a way to give limited back end access? I'd like them to be able to make the changes they need to without being able to muck up the site in any way.
Any ideas or work-arounds in this regards would be highly appreciated.
3. Thank you very much for this. It will save me quite a lot of time.

Could you post a link or a couple of screenshots to make things more clear? With the 'first' sub-category do you mean that when you have sub-category A, B and C, the back button is only hidden in sub-category A?

How about manager access in the backend? Otherwise I'd advise you to look into an Access Control Level component.

1.

Here's a screenshot of Working and Not working categories. The ones with an X on does not have the back button, the rest do.
2. I've had a look at the Freeware noix ACL. Though I'll probably use it in the future for other purposes, it's unable to restrict or grant backend access to certain components (like the gallery and the ACL manager itself). Do you know of any free alternatives? If not, I might be able to persuade my boss to invest in a good Commercial ACL if you have any recommendations.
Thanks again!

1: You need to set the 'display categories view back button' to yes.
2: I don't use any ACL components, so I cannot advise you about this, I'm sorry.
