"Moving on from Picasa"

Now that Google is "moving on from Picasa" (https://picasa.google.com/), when can we expect Google Photos to be implemented in its place?

Phoca Gallery displays images from Google Photos, Google+ and Picasa (I am still waiting for the final feature to make albums public in Google Photos to implement)
In Picasa there were removed some API functions but such were not used in Phoca Gallery - you can display albums (even secret with help of auth key) from Picasa
