Hi I am having problems with an Error of “404 - View not found [name, type, prefix]: phocagalleryimgs, html, phocagalleryView” on three sites I look after.
The main site I use PhocaGallery on, had the following versions installed at the beginning of the year, Phoca Gallery 4.1.2, Phoca Gallery Plugin 4.1.2 and Phoca Gallery Slideshow Plugin 4.1.2. Up to this tyime I had had no problems with generating thumbnails. I updated about 2 weeks ago to the following version Phoca Gallery 4.2.2, Phoca Gallery Plugin 4.2.1 the slideshow plugin remained the same version.
I created a category and folder and uploaded files via FTP to the folder as usual. I went into Images Multi Add and it started to generate thumbnails and then crashed with the above Error. When I logged back in and checked the Image page there were 12 rows created but only 3 Images visible, I checked the directory using file manager on the server and there were 9 files in the directory, 3 for each images visible on the Image page ie 3 S,M,L. I rechecked the options settings to just to make sure but still got the error message.
I upgraded another site, which had fewer images on and got same issues.
I then tried on the third site without upgrading, so the versions installed were, Phoca Gallery 4.1.2, Phoca Gallery Plugin 4.1.2 and Phoca Gallery Slideshow Plugin 4.1.2. And got the same error.
In the time that Thumbnail was working and then not, my ISP had installed “SecurityCheck component” for Joomla sites.
I have had to disable Automatic Thumbnail generation. If this is enabled when the system crashes it tries to continue thumbnail generation and then crashes again!!!
The slideshows I have in articles are working OK>
Has anyone come across this and can you suggest anything else to check. I like Phoca Gallery and obviously wish to stay using it. I am on Joomla 3.4 .8

Hi Christine, Thanks I have already got Menu links on the main site as I have a Menu structure to display the images in different categories. The other sites not at the moment as I am just using the slideshow plugin to display in an article, which is working. I am just unable to get thumbnails to generate. I have an inkling it may be due to the Joomla SecurityCheck component that was installed. Especially as I have two sites upgraded to latest version and one on the previous version of Phoca Gallery and none seem to generate thumbnails with erroring. I will SecurityCheck site out as well to see if other people have had problems. Many thanks Andy

The problem was a conflict between SecurityCheck Free version and Phoca Gallery.
I have been given an answer to this problem by SecurityCheck support, you need to add an extra RewriteCond statement in there Backend code.
You need to add, prior to the RewriteRule the following code - RewriteCond %{QUERY_STRING} !com_phocagallery [NC] - this excludes phoca Gallery from the Rewrite Condition.
I have posted it in this forum so if anyone else has the same problem they can find the answer quickly.
