Phoca gallery not working

I have phoca gallery installed and it has been working fine. I am not sure if there was a recent update, but it seems to be having problems. I am unable to upload files from the front end, it says error uploading file. I also had to turn off thumbnail generator on the back end when I got an error telling me to do that. Any suggestions?

joomla 3.4.8 phoca version 4.2.1

Hi,
phoca version 4.2.1
Ok, then upgrade to the current Phoca Gallery version v4.2.2 and after that, check out the frontend upload again.
