How to hide image thumbnails under certain conditions?

Hi there,

I've defined Phoca Gallery categories in a hierarchical way (please refer to the screenshot).

Image

Category-0 contains Category-1 and Category-2. Category-2 contains subcategories category-2.1 and category-2.2.

In categories view the images Image-1.1....Image-1.4 are used to represent Category-1 comparable to the Phoca 3-demo stile.
Analog Image-Cat2.3 and Image-cat-2.4 are used to represent Category-2.

Image

Category-2 contains besides the subcategories those images (Image-Cat-2.1 and 2.2) that replaces the directory icons of the subordinated categories.
These images are classified as public and not authorized.

In addition the category-2 contains those images (Image-Cat-2.3 and 2.4) that are needed to represent the category in the categories view according this "Phoca-3-demo" stile.

My question is:
Is it possible to exclude those images/thumbnails (Image-Cat-2.3 and 2.4) needed for the categories view (Phoca-3-demo stile) from the category view?

The criteria are:
- a category comprises subordinated categories and certain images
- these images are classified as public and not authorized
- visible in category view are only subordinated categories represented by their individual not authorized images
- in case there are no subcategories (e.g. Category-1) all images are displayed as usual

Does somebody has an idea if this is possible and if so how?

Thx and kind regards
KarEm

Hi, in normal view could not authorized imaged be displayed as category images.

In Phoca Gallery, images from category can be displayed as category image. In case, someone needs to display image as category image BUT NOT display it inside the category, then the following rule is applied - make the image not authorized and such will be displayed as category image but will be not displayed inside the category.

But in mosaic effect the rule does not apply, there are displayed images from the category and they should be published and authorized - so you can make the images not authorized - such will be displayed in standard categories view, but not in mosaic category view.

Hi Jan,

thanks for your reply.

What you've written, I've found, therefore I asked for a resolution.
Anyway, I have detected a solution.
Change the SQL query and remove/comment/change the line:

Code: Select all
' AND a.approved = 1'.
So everything is clarified (at least for the moment).

Again many thanks for this great component and your support.

Kind regards
