On the page of my album are different catogerien with their thumbnails. The thumbnails are pictures that I want changed.

do you mean the thumbnail that represent a category in categories view, like e.g.:

This is not yet the solution. On the stand "www.willibrord-beilen.nl/fotoalbum.html" 4 photo folder containing a picture. These pictures I want to change. That's my problem, I do not know how to do that.

Do you want to change the images insite this categories, or do you want to change the ordering of the existing images insite this categories?

I want to change the first image in the catogerien.

Ok.
1.) Backup your comlete joomla installtion. (Database and Files)
2.) Go to backend --> Components --> Phoca Gallery --> Images --> choose the category --> choose the image --> delete the image
3.) Delete the original image and the small, medium and large thumbnail of this image via FTP in: /images/phocagallery/
4.) Load up the new image to this categorie.
5.) Do step 2.) to 4.) for the other three categories.
