Category and subcategory

Hello,
I would like to make few galleries in my web site. For example is it possible to make gallery which will consist from sub galleries. Main thing which interest me is how to make my subcategory folders bigger, then images which is that sub category.
For ex.:
Subcategory must be 100x100
image thumbnail: 50x50
One more thing. Now then I create my sub category, how can I make name of that sub category more readable.
Because now it writes only few words and other become invisible. Is it possible to make visible name of my sub category then my mouse is over that sub category. (like in simple image thumbnail).
