Creating Thumbnail Problem

I added more than 500 categories but it didn't create thumbnail for me..when i go and click on the category than only the thumbnail creation starts...I can't click on each and every catergory and wait for it to create thumbnails...there must be some procedure to create thumbnails of all categories at once...please help with any suggestions....
