thumbnail size for phoca module

I am uisng astemplate for a joomla web site.
the package had phoca gallery included in it.
On the demo content, the thumbnails were appearing quiet well. The main image size was 500 x 333.
I created my images of this size and uplaoded them.
the thumbnails that are showing now are of the size 100 x 100 instead of 170 x 113 px as in the demo.
At the backend, I have set the thumbnail wodth to be 170 .
