I'm really having a tough time understanding a number of issues with this module, although I love everything that I DO understand.

My site is dedicated to the members of an extremely large extended family (over 1000 living cousins). I'm trying to set up galleries for each core family (mother, father, children)

There are two possible ways that I can control my galleries. One is to grant upload access to one person for each gallery and that person would have control of the gallery. (I guess like a moderator)

The other is to create an "upload" gallery where anyone can upload their pictures, and I could move them into the appropriate gallery on the back end.

I haven't been able to find a comprehensive explaination of the various access rights sections. It it exists, I might be able to figure it out myself.

If I go with the upload section, I would like to grant upload access to anyone (including unregistered guests) but I don't want anyone to be able to view pictures.

I'm all open to suggestions.

Hi, there are three types of rights:

- upload rights (upload and add)
- access rights (view)
- delete and publish/unpublish rights

you can add rights to specific users ... so e.g.

User1 can view category1, category2, category3 but he can upload images only into category1
User2 can view category1, category2 but not category3 e.g. different rights for different users...

OK, I'm starting to get a feel for this. But I'm getting some inconsistent results. Some are giving me the option to upload but when I go through the process (browse to the file, give a title and description, and click start upload) I get the little "wait" icon, the screen clears, refreshes, but the file is not there. I can go to the back end and it's not there either. Other galleries work as expected.

Also, is there any combination which will allow a user (logged in or not) to upload to a category, but not see anything, even what they sent?

do you have enabled error messages in your template?
