I deleted a photo in phoco gallery and added a new one and I can see it there. (I do this in my media manager under phocogallery in the category I am working with and have done this before)
I went to the phoco gallery component and clicked on images and it is not there. What should I check to see why it is not there?

Yes it is. And it had just created thumbs on a previous edit. As a test just now, I delete some of the thumbs in the same folder and when I went to the component and clicked images it create thumbs but not the thumb for this photo. And I deleted that photo and renamed it and it still didn't build it.

Hi, if the original image is renamed, in fact it is other image, so if you add it to system (e.g. in multiple add function) it should be translated to item and thumbnails should be generated.

When adding the image to system, starts the thumbnail creation or not? If not, there is something wrong with Options (not enabled ) if yes, do you get any error when thumbnail is generating?

Is there someway I can show you my settings? It is probably something simple but the "Pagination Thumbnail Generation is set to Yes. Clean Thumbnails is set to no. Enable Thumbnails generations is set to yes. Crop thumbnails is medium and small. I don't know what else to look for.
Also, I was not using the mult file upload. I was just uploading one file to the photogallery under my media control panel. Then I go to the component and click images. There is usually recognizes the new photo and just automatically creates my thumbnails. Now the image is not in the list at all so it doesn't even seem to know to create the thumbnail.

no, that didn't work. I'm lost. it just doesn't want to create thumbnails anywhere now. Is there something I can restore to go back a week before this started without breaking the photos I do have?

Hi, the problem is, I really don't know what happened on your server, so maybe some errorLog should tell more and if not, I think, the gallery needs to be newly installed and created

Is it possible to restore something to make sure all the settings are the same as when it worked? If so which file and would it break anything?

Hi, the only one restoring option is to reinstalling (which will delete all the items ), you can clean e.g. options table in Joomla! - the row of Phoca Gallery - to restore all the settings - but this needs to be done in e.g. phpMyAdmin (and of course backup should be done before)
