Delete original after creating thumbs

When uploading an image Phoca Gallery creates three thumbnails. The original file isn't needed anymore, but it seems it can't be automatically deleted when the thumbs are created.
Is there a setting to do this? Or does have to happen manually? The images are over 2MB, so the size of an album increases quickly.

Hi, see similar posts in the forum where I have explained it, you can remove the originals manually, but then some features will not work for your (e.g. downloading file, gettitng size info, recreating thumbnails in admin, etc.)

I read some of your posts Jan. But if the originals are necessair it makes Phoca a space spender. Three different thumbnails are created and the orginal image with a size over 2 MB are stored on the server.
Is there a way in Phoca to resize the resolution of the originel when uploading? A width of max 640px is more than enough

Hi, no, Phoca Gallery does not change original images, because they can be used for other applications. So Phoca Gallery only use them, for creating thumbnails, etc. but they are fully managed by users, so it is up to all users which original images they will upload to server. E.g. java upload applet can resize the images while uploading.
