Theme installing failed

Post by chilly_bang »

Hi to all!
My first post and many thanks for wonderful product! - mighty and easy to use.

A little trouble on using themes: installing of new themes failed without errors/warnings. The after-installing message is "successful", but nothing is installed, no new images are uploaded into components/com_phocagallery/assets/images and theme.xml is the same, that was befor installing. I solved this problem for me in quick and dirty way - overwrited/renamed all images from new theme to old theme folder and left the old theme.xml. it works, but...

After overwriting images i realized, that some images have too long names - is the problem here? (i'm on Mac) Or i do something just wrong on newbie way?

Thanks a lot for any advices and best regards from Berlin

Hi,

after installing the theme, did you apply the theme to the component, or categories view or category view?

Regards, Carolien

yes, sure, of cause, but first, there is no "save"-button, only "close", second: on managing-themes-page i get the message "Current Theme: default", and its after installation of orange-theme...

Upload is save... after uploading (with checking all the options) you should get message that the theme was installed...
